Fluid Mechanics Question Asked In Mechanical Engineering Viva-2019!!

This video share important Fluid Mechanics Question Asked in Mechanical Engineering Viva.
Here we list up the question what we are discussed in this video.
Question Number: 1 what parameter influence tool life?
Answer:
The life of tool is affected by many factors such as:
• cutting speed,
• depth of cut,
• chip thickness,
• tool geometry,
• Material or the cutting fluid and rigidity of machine.
Physical and chemical properties of work material influence tool life by affecting form stability and rate of wear of tools.
Question Number 2: What is boundary layer?
Answer:
In physics and fluid mechanics, a boundary layer is the layer of fluid in the immediate vicinity of a bounding surface where the effects of viscosity are significant. In the Earth's atmosphere, the atmospheric boundary layer is the air layer near the ground affected by diurnal heat, moisture or momentum transfer to or from the surface. On an aircraft wing the boundary layer is the part of the flow close to the wing, where viscous forces distort the surrounding non-viscous flow.
Question Number 3: Difference between laminar flow & turbulent flow?
Answer:
Laminar Flow: the flow of a fluid when each particle of the fluid follows a smooth path, paths which never interfere with one another. One result of laminar flow is that the velocity of the fluid is constant at any point in the fluid.
Turbulent Flow: irregular flow that is characterized by tiny whirlpool regions. The velocity of this fluid is definitely not constant at every point.
Question Number 4: Difference between path line & stream line?
Answer:
Stream line is the line drawn tangential to the velocity vector at every point in the flow. Stream line is drawn for every single particle individually when passed through the flow.
Path line is the line traced by given particle in other words it is the trace of all particles. For path line it is drawn for particles which when passed through the point gives the exact position of path line.
In steady flow as properties of the fluid don’t change with time or they remain constant with time path line and stream line are same in steady flow.
Question Number 5: Difference between stagnation point and separation point?
Answer: Stagnation pressure is what occurs when the flow runs into a fixed surface. This would be what you feel from the wind, or a fan.
Static pressure is the internal pressure of a flow if the pressure measuring device travels along with the flow. You can also measure it with a small whole in a surface along which the flow travels.
